Architecture Essay Competition

The Minds Underground™ Architecture Essay Competition is aimed at students in Year 12 (though younger applicants are welcome as well as Year 13 university re-applicants). The competition provides students with an opportunity to engage in university-level research, hone their writing & argumentative skills and prepare for university interviews. Entrants must choose 1 question to answer.

Hint: Discuss innovative architectural solutions like modular housing, vertical cities, and sustainable design, and their potential to address global housing shortages.

Hint: Consider how traditional architectural forms and techniques coexist or conflict with the demands of modern technology, sustainability, and urbanisation.

How does architecture shape social behaviour?

Hint: Explore how architectural design influences human interactions, community formation, and public spaces, referencing case studies or specific building projects.
