Design Engineering Course for Students U18
Most students tend to see that they can either go down a STEM or arts route and are likely unaware of the route that lies in between. Design Engineering is essentially design plus creative engineering within an often futurist context. Our online Design Engineering course aims to introduce students to Design Engineering as a degree subject and future career, covering a wide range of topics and honing skills such as idea generation and computer-aided design.
What does the Design Engineering course entail?
Our online Design Engineering course provides a comprehensive introduction to the field, blending elements of STEM and arts to foster innovative thinking and practical skills. Students will explore various aspects of design engineering, including:

What does it mean to be a human-centred designer?
A Design Engineer's Workflow
Learn to craft effective design briefs
Iteration in Design

Telling a story in design
Showcase your hard work and creativity! Present your final projects, practise your pitching skills, and receive valuable feedback. This is your opportunity demonstrate your design engineering prowess and add a valuable asset to your pre-university portfolio.

Logistics for 2024
Duration: Total of 8 hours
Schedule: Monday, 15th July - Monday, 2nd September
Sessions: Weekly on Mondays from 4-5pm UK time
Format: All sessions will be recorded in case students are away on particular weeks
